What Do The Icons Mean - and what not.

Cruelty Free
These products are not tested on animals, and the raw materials used have also not been tested on animals. Animal testing for cosmetics is forbidden in both the European Union and South Korea.

What it does not mean: Cruelty free does not imply that a product is hypoallergenic or free from synthetic ingredients. Please note: in the Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR), the safety assessor may still need to use toxicological reference data that originates from animal studies conducted before animal testing bans were in place.

HEMA Free
These products do not contain 2-Hydroxyethyl Methacrylate (HEMA, CAS 868-77-9).

What it does not mean: HEMA free does not mean that the product is free from all acrylates (e.g., Di-HEMA Trimethylhexyl Dicarbamate may still be present). These longer Acrylates are generally less sensitization-prone than HEMA, but sensitization can still occur.

TPO Free
These products do not contain Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide (TPO, CAS 75980-60-8).

What it does not mean: Other UV photoinitiators such as TPO-L or TMO may be present. These are not listed in Annex II or III of the EU Cosmetic Products Regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009) and are permitted in cosmetic nail products.

Certified Vegan
The brand holds a valid Vegan certification, ensuring that no animal-derived ingredients are used.

What it does not mean: Vegan certification does not automatically mean the product is “natural” or “organic” – it only confirms that no ingredients of animal origin are present.
